Theatre Revue!

BHAVANA BHARADWAJ, Staff Writer

This month, some friends and I went to the three day long Theater Revue of 2026 as performed by our own Alchemist Theatre Company. And to say the least, the show was absolutely spectacular!

It was a true delight for any Broadway enthusiast or theater kid within the audience.

With multitudes of songs and references from actual musicals, any person can find a way to relate to the show.

Even when ignoring the tasteful references made within this show, the singing and acting was out of this world. I found my own eyes drawn to the stage, incapable of withdrawing. Some performances I particularly enjoyed

were the Charlie Brown and Hamilton pieces incorporated.

And so, I asked other viewers what they appreciated most about the show. Let's take a look then:

“I really liked the full cast acts, specifically 'Jam' from the Michael Jackson Show, since the choreography was very eye-catching” - Angela Marie Ovejas (9)

“I would have to say my favorite part of it would have to be the songs in the play. I feel like they were well written and well played out.” - Daniel Gray (9)

“I liked the songs and choreography. It had a fun vibe and all of the performers were talented, and that talent is what made the revue a showstopper.” - Mahi Patel (9)

"Honestly everyone did a great job, the hard work did pay off, nice to hear that riff from Rihanna's 'Don't Stop the Music' in Michael Jackson's 'Wanna be starting something.' Overall it was a great show." - Jay Pindipol (11)

“Originally, I wasn’t very sure what to expect from the show, as I had never been to something like this before. But when it started, I was completely hooked and it has become one of my favorite school events that I’ve ever been to; everybody did absolutely amazing throughout each skit and song.” - Ryan Garcia (9)

I also had the opportunity to speak with new performers in Alchemist! I asked what they like about Alchemist:

"I enjoy Alchemist because they include everyone and give me experience as an actress." - Savannah Estrada (9)

"I really enjoyed spending time with the cast and crew! The hours were long, but the memories were permanent." - Mirabel Layen (9)

Overall, everyone I came across had great things to say about the production. From whispers I heard in the hallways to the upfront conversations I had with viewers, I'm sure I speak for everyone when I celebrate the many performers and members of stage crew who made this show come to life.

Often, we don't expect anything as wonderful from a high school play, but NBTHS's own Alchemist Theatre Company proved every jaded adult wrong during those three nights of performance, and for that, we are all extremely proud.

From the actors to the singers to the stage crew, we celebrate every contributing member who allowed everyone to experience a night of true wonder!
