Graduation Speech: Xaria La'Mar

Class of 2020, first of all thank you. Thank you for the moments in the last four years we have shared together. Whether you realize it or not you have had an impact on my life; not just mine, but the people around you. It is really amazing that there are so many different types of people in our school. From the scholars, to the musicians, to the athletes, to the tech savvy kids, we all had a part in making these last four years unforgettable.

I will always remember the first day of freshman year meeting up with everybody to start high school, everyone was so excited. As we sit here today, please just think about the memories that you have had as a North Brunswick student and remember how much you have all accomplished over the last four years. There have been good times and bad times, but it led us here and that's what is most important.

I just want to start off by talking about some of my experiences at North Brunswick over the last four years. Freshman year I swear I got lost in the triangle everyday for the first month of school. Sophomore year I will never forget having Mrs. Piatkowski for Biology; she never failed to make us smile in class. Playing two sports in the fall, two sports in the spring, and keeping up my grades was hard. In fact it was harder than hard, but I got through it with the help of my classmates, family, and friends. Despite some of the hardships I made it here today and you know what, I wouldn't change a thing. I got to senior year and was beyond excited. I'll never forget all the Friday night football games; it was always fun to have a team to root for. Homecoming, the Rock-a-thon, and Senior Leadership parent night are some of the countless memories that I have been able to make with my classmates.

Now I know you're probably tired of hearing me talk, but I want to thank some people here. Thank you to Mr. Kneller, coaches, teachers, and all the staff that work in the building. To all the parents, family, and friends sitting here, thank you for supporting the kids in your life and helping them get here. To my fellow classmates, thank you for being a part of my life. I want everyone to look around this room at all the people you know and realize that they have made an impact on your life. As a class this is our send off into the real world. Always remember that you were a part of the North Brunswick Class of 2020. I want to thank you for all of the unforgettable moments, fun times, tears, laughs, and smiles. On that note I want to end by saying that every single graduate here can do amazing things in life.

Thank you, now let's graduate!
