Good afternoon esteemed faculty, family, and fellow graduates. Today I stand before you to reflect on our high school career. I’d like to take a moment to recognize the people in this arena. Every single one of you has had an impact. Whether it be a parent, sibling, best friend, or mentor, each one of you has inspired us to take the next steps in our lives. After receiving your diploma today, each one of you will walk away with an improved version of yourself.

However, my version of all of you remains unchanged. In the fall of 2015, we attended our first pep rally. We were so confident, thinking we would win everything. Little did we know, tug of war required actual muscle; and I, standing in the middle ready to pull and everything, was knocked off my feet in seconds. That day I went home and laughed about it because I realized it wasn’t tug of war, it was reality. That day we were in it together, ready to win. We were thrown off course, but we were determined. Just like that, I recognized that this bond is like tug of war. It’s us against every obstacle in our way because together we lose, we win, and we march on. Funnily enough, we also lost tug of war in our last pep rally. But besides that point, I have realized we are undefeatable when we are united. We live in a world where it is easier to be divided and only look after ourselves. But when I look at all of you, I know that we will leave the world a better place because we worked together.

Furthermore, I am grateful for the education and support I have received throughout my thirteen years in this district. Taking the lessons we have learned from all of the faculty, administrators, and families, we move on to our next ambitious phase. Before I conclude, I want you all to close your eyes and picture the people you appreciate. Take the opportunity before the end of today to thank them. We, as the future of tomorrow, need to recognize the people that support us in our endeavors. And remember, it is our unity that makes us stronger. Thank you and congratulations to the North Brunswick Township High School Class of 2019.
